The Daily News has compiled a list of residents from the Harbour City and surrounding region that we think you will be hearing a lot about this year. They come from all walks of life - athletics, politics, business - and they are our 'Faces to watch' in 2014.

Erralyn Thomas, Snuneymuxw First Nation councillor-elect Thomas, 27, is set to be the youngest member of the SFN council. She is also wrapping up her term as the female youth representative for the B.C. Assembly of First Nations.

She graduated from UBC law school last year with a focus on business law and says she hopes to use her expertise to improve her community.

The SFN council is set to have a big year and is already involved in a working group on the Colliery dams with the City of Nanaimo and a lawsuit with the Nanaimo-Ladysmith school district. Look for Thomas to play a key role in those discussions.
