Status: Renewal negotiations under way. When the lease expired between the Port of Nanaimo and BC, SFN negotiated that the lease would be extended for 4 more years, on the condition that the land would be transferred to SFN in year 4. The headlease would transfer to the Nation on year 5.
About the land/project: For our Ancestors, the Estuary was our dinner table. This has serious cultural and spiritual significance .
