The department is transitioning from “Marine Division” to “Lands & Resources,” but the Marine Division identity is still strongly recognized by the community. These updates are part of our effort to introduce the new structure while keeping the familiar Marine Division presence.
Snuneymuxw First Nation is one of the largest Nations in B.C. with a population of approximately 2,000 people. We are one of the few Nations that have a pre-Confederation treaty with the Crown – the Sarlequun Snuneymuxw Treaty of 1854.
